Posting a sample Quicktime Movie

Today in class we are going to learn how to use Keynote to make simple Quicktime slideshows for the web.  Below is an example.  You post the video on YouTube and then record the YouTube URL when you embed the media using WordPress.

Brandon Ballengée visits SAIC

Brandon seeking frogs live and in person.

Brandon seeking frogs live and in person.

More than many environmental artists, the work of Brandon Ballengée bridges the gap between research biology and art. He combines a fascination with fish and amphibians with the techniques of commercial art photography.

In 1996 Ballengée began collaborating with scientists to create hybrid environmental art/ ecological research projects. Since then he has had numerous exhibitions nationally and internationally in which he presents photographs and biological samples of the creatures he collects. He is involved directly with field research and uses the visual impact of science to engage the public in a discussion of broader environmental issues.

Welcome to the Wired Writing 2008 blog!

My favorite form of Windy City transportation.

Hi everyone.  I set up a blog space for our class so we could test a variety of templates to set up our blogs.  This first template we are looking at is called K2, it’s the default template for all WordPress blogs.

It’s pretty easy to add images to your blog posts.  Images can be added in 2 ways.  First, you can upload images to your Media Library, and link locally.  Or you can pick an image at an absolute link (say a Flickr pic) and show the image that way.
